Huntington Ballet Theatre is performing a new work choreographed by Victoria Edgar. HBT will be sharing the stage with other dance companies as part of The Long Isalnd Dance Consortium, on August 10,2008 at 8:30pm on the Chapin Stage at the Huntington Arts Council Summer Arts Festival at Heckscher Park, Huntington, NY.

ADULT ACTING PROGRAM OFFERED BY THE AMERICAN ART THEATRE ACTORS WORKSHOP

The Huntington Center for Performing Arts has expanded its class offerings into the art of acting through The American Art Theatre Actors Workshop (established 1995). American Art Theatre offers acting classes for the aspiring actor and the professional.

Each session is 8 weeks long and features the study of various acting techniques such as Stanislavsky, The Group Theatre and the Actors Studio(Method Acting). Sessions are offered in Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer. Classes also cover sense memory, improvisation, scene study, script interpretation and script analysis.

Classes are taught by Founder/Artistic Director Rick Imberman,associate of The Actors Studio, graduate of N.Y.U.’s Tisch School of the Arts,Student of Lee Strasberg, Bobby Lewis,Stella Adler and David Mamet.

Summer session begins June 16, 2008.

The CENTER continues to evolve and grow adding new classes mid-year in an assortment of performing arts areas. We are pleased to announce the formation of new Suzuki classes, adult dance and new theatre arts that will commence in February 2008.

Huntington Ballet Theatre’s 20th Anniversary Production is a Family Affair

Huntington, New York….. Huntington Ballet Theatre (HBT) is presenting its 20^th production of The Nutcracker on November 24 & 25, 2008 at Landmark on Main Street’s Jeanne Rimsky Theater in Port Washington. Taking the stage will be young dancers, pre-professional dancers and professional dancers as well as parents of some of the dancers. However for the Kaplan family it will be three generations dancing together; Grandfather Ron Kaplan, his daughter Marnie Gershowitz and his granddaughter Emily Gershowitz.
