NUTCRACKER AUDITIONS SEPTEMBER 11 & 12 FOR LONG ISLAND BALLET THEATRE’S 24TH PRODUCTION
Aspiring dancers age 5 & up are encouraged to audition for LIBT’s 24th production of this holiday classic. Joining a seasoned cast of professional dancers from the finest ballet companies in the world will be students dancers from across LI, the majority of whom study at Huntington Center for Performing Arts in the L’Academie de Danse or Les Petits Dansuers programs. See audition schedule posted on this site.Auditions will be at The center on September 11 & 12, 2010.
FEE: $20 (CASH OR CHECK)

September 11 12 noon – 1pm – ages 5-6 yrs ( no previous ballet training) WHITE MICE
1-2pm – ages 7-9 yrs ( 1-2 years ballet training) ANGELS, SOLDIERS
2-3:30 – ages 9 -14 ( 3 yrs+ ballet training, no Pointe) PARTY SCENE, CLARA, FRITZ, POLLY, TREPAC
September 12 12 – 2pm YOUTH COMPANY MEMBER AUDITION for 2010-2011
Corps & Soloists Roles on Pointe (13 yrs & up)
Ballet Training Needed: 5 years ballet training & 2 yrs Pointe.
Please bring Pointe shoes, resume & photo (new dancers only)
Students of Ballet Program Pass ABT Exams with Honors
Students of LesPetits and L’Academie completed their Primary A & B exams on June 9, 2010. To the delight of their teacher, Carolyn Zettel -Augustyn, all of them ( 14 in total ) passed with flying colors! In fact many received high honors and stellar comments by ABT adjudicator, Raymond Lukins.
Congratulations to you all and Mrs. Zettel-Augustyn!

SUMMER BALLET WORKSHOP FOR BEGINNER -PRE-PROFESSIONAL STARTS AUGUST 9TH 2010
SUMMER BALLET WORKSHOP CLASS SCHEDULE 2010 – AUGUST 9-26
Weekly classes – Mon – Thursday
WEEK 1- August 9-12 – Instructors: F. Augustyn, *A. Strelick, ,* C. Zettel-Augustyn, T.Alessi (Nutcracker Workshop)
Week 2 – August 16-19 – Instructors: *O.Konobeyeva, *A. Strelick,T. Alessi (Nutcracker Workshop)
Week 3- August 23-26- Instructors:* O.Konobeyeva, *A. Strelick,T. Alessi (Nutcracker Workshop)
Intro to Ballet – (Ages 6 -8 NO PRIOR TRAINING) – 4:30 – 5:30 -$100/wk; 175/2wks;250/3wks
JUNIOR – 4:30 -5:30 - (Ages 6-8) – $100/wk; 175/2wks; 250/3wks
Introduction to ballet technique, tap (shoes not required for summer study) and folk dancing (character ballet) make this a perfect class to become acquainted with our program of study.
INTERMEDIATE- 5:30 – 7:00pm (Ages 7 & up with 2 years of prior ballet training) – $150/wk; 275/2wks; 375/3wks
Ballet techique, pre-pointe, turn & jump classes for the current dance student in levels A1, A2 in the Academy (as of June 19 placement) or any student that has taken a ballet class for at least 2 years and is familiar with basic barre work, center and basic turns.
ADVANCED – 5:30 – 7:30pm- $175/wk; 325/ 2wks; 500/3wks
Ballet technique, Pointe, Variations, Partnering for Academy levels A3, A4 & Pre-professional or the student that has been om Pointe for at least 2 years.
***New students call for free placement class – 631-271-4626 We strongly recommend taking a placement class if you are not currently enrolled in our school.
**** Nutcracker Workshop – Thursdays - Each level will prepare for Nutcracker auditions for LIBT Nutcracker that will take place September 11 & 12 , 2010.
